New Year, New Goals, Same Squad!
We’re ringing in the New Year with new goals, but we also need to reflect on all the insane and incredible experiences we had in 2018. Although we were established in 2017, 2018 was our FIRST FULL YEAR of the Raleigh Distance Project.
January—Our first blog post: “Est. RDP.”
It feels like it’s been almost exactly a year ago that we began to get everything established with RDP. I guess you could say we finally “defined the relationship” at the beginning of 2018.
April—Erin runs Boston
...and endures the hellish weather to finish in a super impressive time.
May—Tristin Runs the USATF half marathon championship
..and finishes in 12th place overall with a half marathon PR.
May—Partnership with Oiselle
This was one of the biggest steps of 2018 for the Raleigh Distance Project. Partnering with Oiselle has been one of our biggest blessings, and we can’t wait to see what 2019 brings with this awesome relationship.
June—Andie runs Grandmas!!
Andie’s race at Grandma’s marathon proved that she was back in the groove--and ready to kick butt.
We took places 1-3 at the NC USATF 5k champs in Winston Salem.
August—Sammy smashes the Sir Walter Miler
...one of the fastest mile races in country.
August—BIG BIRD CAMP
Absolutely, positively, one of the coolest team experiences EVER. Be sure to join us in 2019.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made our first block party at Run Raleigh a success!
September—Where it all began: Running the VA 10 miler and our DOPE video
Probably the most pinnacle race in the history of RDP. The Virginia 10 miler is where we first decided to start the Raleigh Distance Project in 2017. This year was our first reunion and we celebrated with launching our new team video.
November—Rita drops a huge PR in Indy
...Rita runs an insane marathon in Indy, dropping minutes off of her previous marathon PR.
November—Kim Maloney joins the squad.
Welcome to the home squad, Kim!!
These are only a handful of the events that defined our 2018. Although there’s so much, the year flew by for us. We can’t wait to see what 2019 brings, but we will always cherish this first full year of RDP.
